Why Streams Buffer and How to Fix It

Last updated: March 2026

Buffering usually comes from congestion, unstable routing, or a browser/device bottleneck. This checklist solves most issues in under 5 minutes.

1) Try source switching first

When traffic spikes, a single source may degrade. Switch to an alternate source before doing deeper troubleshooting.

2) Lower bitrate for stability

Dropping quality slightly can remove stalls and audio desync, especially on mobile networks or shared Wi-Fi.

3) Check VPN route quality

4) Browser/device fixes

5) Network sanity checks

Pause cloud sync/downloads and avoid running multiple HD streams on the same network at once.
